Fan Pier, Boston: 1987 and September, 2014 aerial views. Altitude 1400 ft. Schweitzer 300 helicopter; Taylor Chase = pilot. Anthony’s Pier 4 restaurant, bottom center, is now closed. The Moakley Federal Courthouse is almost obscured by the new Vertex buildings in the center.
On June 17, 1775, British troops attacked the fortified hill top against heavy militia resistance. The monument marks the top of Bunker Hill, although most of the fighting was on nearby Breed’s Hill. This view looking SE towards the Old North Church in Boston.
